1 day (2 May) Arrival, meeting at airport. Accommodation in the hotel in Tbilisi

2 day (3 May) Trip to Mtskheta. Sightseeing tour in Tbisili.

Mtskheta — town in Georgia. Mtskheta was founded in the second part of first millennium before our era.

According to legend, with town was founded by Mtskhetos. Cultural monuments of this region are under the protection of the UNESCO. Mtskheta is called Second Jerusalem

Svetickhoveli (XI), (life-giving column) – cathedral is patriarchal church of Georgian orthodox churches in Mtskheta, which throughout thousand years was considered as a main church in Georgia and it still is.

Cathedral is under the protection of UNESCO. This place is considered as one of the holy places in contemporary Georgia.

Jvari monastery (IV-VI) — Georgian monastery and church standing on the top of the hill from where you can see confluence of two rivers: Mtkvari and Aragvi. According to legends this was place where St. Nino erected her cross. Jvari — and its architecture is one of the great masterpieces and it is the first monument of Georgia which gained the protection of UNESCO. This place influenced many famous writers and from here they were writing their poems.

Gori. Museum of Josef Stalin – is historical museum in Georgia. It is not surprising to find here house museum of Soviet Union Leader (from 1925 to 1953) since Gori is his home town and it has a lot to do with his childhood and not only.

Uplistsikhe ("the lord's fortress") — it’s an ancient cave town, one of the first towns on the territory of Georgia. Uplistsikhe is carved in caves, located in 12 km distance from town Gori. Town was founded at the end of II and beginning of I millennium before our era. This monument is unique because of its construction, there still are remains of architectural structures, which were built thousands of years ago.

Arrival back in Tbilisi.

Visiting Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi – cathedral “sameba” is one of the biggest churches in Tbilisi which can be compared to the church of Christ in Moscow. Church can accommodate 15 000 people;

Walking tour on the route of “Narikala” – Holy mount Mtatsminda still keeps fragments of fortress

Narikala. This is one of the most famous sights in Tbilisi. Locals call is “soul and a heart of town.” Fortress is dated approximately - IV century. That means that fortress is standing here from the foundation of Tbilisiitself.

Shardeni Street in Tbilisi. It was named after French catholic missioner. Six years ago it was renewed. It was considered to be place for masters, like Montmartre, but for now this is full with restaurants, cafes and boutiques. This is cultural place in Tbilisi.

Signage - is known as a “town of love.” It is a little town in the east part of Georgia which is built on the cliffof the mountain in the historical region – Kakheti. Houses here are built in north-Italian style combined with elements of Georgian style as well. It is famous for its fortress which is one of the largest in Georgia.

Bodbe monastery was built in IV century by first Christian king – Mirian. Monastery is built at the place where is grave of St. Nino. Her burial place is there due to her will.

Tsinandali – House-museum of Aleksandre Chavchavadze – was opened in 1946, exactly after one hundred years later from the death of famous Georgian writer. In 2008 museum was reconstructed. Despite this fact, museum maintained first view, interior, old furniture and private things and belongings of family members.

4 Day (5 May) Kazbegi

Kazbegi – mountainous region.

Holy Trinity Church in Gergeti. (Tsminda Sameba) located 2170 meters high above the sea level, nearby of the center of Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), which is along the Georgian – military road. The church was built in XIV century and it considered as a main church within this region.

5 Day (6 May) Borjomi

Borjomi — it is a town-resort in Samtskhe-javakheti region. This town is famous for its mineral water – Borjomi which is on the first place of export in Georgia.

Green Monastery – In Borjomi Gorge, in one of the most beautiful places, here is monastery of St. George. People call it “Green Monastery,” it’s because all the trees and their leaves have different tinge of colours than other places, as well as stones, from which the monastery is built. All of them are green, but some of them have dark, and some of them light colours. Monastery was built in IX-X century.

National park of Borjom-kharagauli – is one of the biggest national parks in Europe. It unites 6 administrative parts: Borjomi, Kharagauli, Khashuri, Akhaltsikhe, Abastumani and Bagdat. Here you can find geographical and ecological zones. They are rich with different species of animals and plants; hence it is an object of interest of many people. Historical monuments, which are located on the territory of park, are making this place more attractive for them who are interested in Georgian culture.

6 Day (7 May) Мesxeti

Fortress Rabat — is a medieval fortress in the South of Georgia, in the city of Akhaltsikhe. History about foundation of this fortress goes back in 1578.

Vardzia — is a monastery complex in caves in Javakheti – XII – XIII centuries. It is a very famous medieval monument in Georgia. Located approximately 100 Km from town Borjomi.
