Estonian Reading Association EstRA is hosting the 6th Baltic Sea Conference on Literacy: Literacy Environment - Environmental literacy held on October 4-7, 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia. Welcome!

   
The Baltic Sea conferences are an excellent opportunity of addressing literacy in a systematic and comprehensive way and to share the best practices.
 

The theme  focuses on the environment that supports the formation and development of reading-writing skills in its physical, mental and social meaning and environmental literacy - sustaining ecological and social stability.

Conference Venue - Tallinn University

Tallinn University is one of Estonia’s leading centers for research and innovation in education, culture, and sustainability. The conference will take place in the university’s Mare building, a hub for academic collaboration and exchange at the heart of the vibrant campus in Tallinn.

From 2–12 October 2025, all registered conference participants are entitled to free city transport, kindly supported by Tallinn City Government.
   
A QR code will be sent to you after registration – please also register any accompanying persons to ensure they receive their own code.
   
A QR ticket must be validated at the bottom of the rectangular orange validator located at the front door of the public transport vehicle: place the QR code displayed on a smart device screen or printed on paper in front of the code reader screen situated at the lower part of the rectangular validator.
 

Cold water swimming in a sea with the warmth of a tent sauna

Join us for a unique experience that combines the cold water swimming in a sea with the warmth of a tent sauna. This boosts your well-being and connects with fellow participants in a refreshing and inspiring setting. Participants can choose to join the swim or enjoy just a sauna if the water is beyond their comfort zone. The Baltic Sea temperature typically ranges from 4-6°C (39-43°F) that time of year. Take with your swimsuit, towel and slippers.
