To mark the 107th anniversary of the University of Latvia, a high-level expert conference entitled “Reducing Bureaucracy: Strengthening the Competitiveness of Latvia and Europe” will take place in the University’s Small Hall on 25 September 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Speakers will include Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification; Professor Gundars Bērziņš, Rector of the University of Latvia; and Jānis Endziņš, Head of the Bureaucracy Reduction Action Group. The conference will be moderated by Ilze Nagla, a journalist and Latvian Television correspondent in Brussels. The working language will be Latvian, with interpretation into English provided.
