Economy Hotel OÜ
A little gem on the edge of the old town, and has been since 1890!
The compactness and simplicity of the rooms, faithful to the era, have been preserved to this day.
Built at the end of the 19th century as a hotel, it was then called the Grand Hotel and was one of the first in Tallinn.
We have preserved the feel of the era in our house and distinguish ourselves from the big chain hotels, for example, by the creaky wooden staircase from the end of the 19th century that leads guests to the rooms on the second and third floors. The building was reconstructed in the 1920s and was home to a hotel and restaurant until 1940. It is known that the building also housed the Hotel 'Kopli', when Kopli Street was renamed Kalinin Street. The building also survived the March Bombing in 1944, when much of Tallinn was destroyed.
in 2003, the building was completely renovated and became known as "Skåne Hotel". Since 2010 the hotel is run by a new hotel operator and was renamed the Economy Hotel, and in 2012 a major renovation of the rooms was carried out.
The three-storey hotel has 40 rooms on two floors, overlooking both the Old Town and Kopli Street and the backyard. All rooms have free WiFi, a work desk, TV and bathroom with shower and eco-labelled toiletries. Rooms on the second floor have high ceilings and windows, while the third floor has sloping ceilings and smaller windows. We have tried to preserve old wooden floors and doors where possible. Due to the hotel's respectable location in the east, the house can be accessed by stairs.
